Abstract

SURIGAO CITY, Dec. 6 (PIA) – The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the World Bank have chosen the province of Surigao del Norte as a pilot center for the roads infrastructure development nationwide under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP). A team of German project implementers... The municipalities of Mainit and Placer were chosen as core areas of the giant project, packages 1 and 2, which started on May 9 and 12, respectively. Completion is set on July 29, 2018 for package 1, and August 4, 2018 for package 2, covering 80.4 kilometers. Punong barangay Manuelito Egar of San Jose, Mainit also recognized the efforts of the local government because his elders have been wanting to realize the road concreting in their area for a long time already. Bae Ester Mayapa, head of the Mamanwa group in Marayag also said that the project will surely benefit the locals, especially the Mamanwas who are eager to work in the construction.
